“Found an island in your arms, country in your eyes
Arms that chain us, eyes that lie
Break on through to the other side
Break on through, oww”

“Break on Through” was the first single released by the Doors. At the beginning, the song performed unsuccessfully, peaked only No.126 in the US.

But “Break on Through” later became a minor hit, peaking at No.64 on the UK singles chart. This single also became one of the band’s signatures and most popular songs.

I bet you will totally intoxicate with its changeable rhythms, and then dance to music. Why not download the song and enjoy it?

2. Light My Fire

“Come on baby light my fire
Come on baby light my fire
Try to set the night on fire
The time to hesitate is through”

“Light My Fire” was one of the most successful songs by the band reached at No.1 on the US Billboard Hot 100. The song is ranked at No.35 on Rolling Stone’s list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.

Honestly, I think it is the best the Doors songs in my view. It’s a song about lust, about seduction. The charm of this song is irresistible, I feel the beats pass through bones and make my heart restless.

3. The End

“My only friend, the end
It hurts to set you free
But you’ll never follow me
The end of laughter and soft lies”

“The End” from the album “The Doors”, used in Francis Ford Coppola’s 1979 film Apocalypse Now. The song on YouTube has got 43,355,670 views. In 1969, Morrison stated: “Every time I hear that song, it means something else to me.”

Actually, the philosophy lyrics with surreal color and the singing of Jim Morrison make you feel desperate emotions in rhythms. Furthermore, The End helps parted lovers to recover from pain.

4. People Are Strange

“When you’re strange
Faces come out of the rain
When you’re strange
No one remembers your name”

“People Are Strange” was released in September 1967, climbing to No.12 in the US Hot 100 chart and No.10 in the Cash Box charts. “People Are Strange” is about alienation and being an outsider, Morrison sang the song in his haunting blues voice.

Light and casual bistro style piano really catch my eyes. I was deeply impressed by the combination of a brisk pace and a few of sentimental lyrics

5. Touch Me

“I’m gonna love you
Till the stars fall from the sky for you and I
Come on, come on, come on, come on
Now touch me, baby”

“Touch Me” is a song from the album “The Soft Parade”, Written by Robby Krieger. The song reached No.3 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and No.1 in the Cashbox Top 100. “Touch Me” also did well elsewhere.

In a sense, I was addicted to the melody of this song. The song’s lyrics really touch my heart. How do I wish I had a lover, who will love me till the stars fall from the sky, and you?

6. Hello, I Love You

“Hello I love you
Won’t you tell me your name
Hello I love you
Let me jump in your game”

7. Roadhouse Blues

“They dance for the people
Who like to go down slow
Let it roll, baby, roll
Let it roll, baby, roll”

“Roadhouse Blues” appeared on the B-side of “You Make Me Real”. The single later peaked at No.50 on the US Billboard Hot 100. It quickly became a concert staple for the band. The song was one of the Doors greatest hits.

As the lyrics “Let it roll, baby, roll “, I can’t resist the rhythm of the song. Sometimes, we just let our life go with the flow, and reduce the anxiety in your heart. You got to thrill your soul and enjoy some rock music.

8. Been Down So Long

“Well, I’ve been down so very damn long
That it looks like up to me
Yeah, why don’t one you people
C’mon and set me free”

“Been Down So Long” is the third song on “L.A. Woman”. We can feel something depressed from the song title, the song draws upon themes of depression, liberation, and sexuality.

This conventional blues song also features a distinct slide guitar. Words can’t express my love for its stomping beat. If you have been down so long, why not listen to the song?

9. L.A. Woman

“Where the little girls in their Hollywood bungalows
Are you a lucky little lady in the City of Light
Or just another lost angel
City of Night”

“L.A. Woman” was the title track on their 1971 album “L.A. Woman”. Interestingly, Morrison recorded his vocal part in the bathroom to achieve natural sound effects. Jerry Schiff played excellent electric guitar in the single.

I have to say, my body just danced with the music of the drums when I first heard the song. Now, just get the Doors MP3 free download without hesitation.

“Riders on the storm
Riders on the storm
Into this house we’re born

“Riders on the Storm” incorporates recordings of rain and thunder along with electric piano playing. This song has always been considered the best portrayal of Morrison.

It is much to be regretted that Jim Morrison died after this song was released in 1971. We will cherish the memory of him forever!
