Besides, she’s got a position on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

In her songs, we can feel her power and her passion for music and life.

Today, I’m going to share a list of top 10 Shakira songs on YouTube.

1. Shakira – Hips Don’t Lie

“I never really knew that she could dance like this
She makes a man wants to speak Spanish
Como se llama (si)
Bonita (si)”

This catchy funny song says that body language speaks louder than words. It’s actually quite enjoyable. And if you happen to brainstorm a dance song, this salsa pop may be a choice.

2. Shakira –Whenever Wherever

“Whenever, wherever
We’re meant to be together
I’ll be there and you’ll be near
And that’s the deal my dear”

Whenever Wherever was chosen as the lead single from Shakira’s third studio album, Laundry Service (2001). It’s Shakira’s debut English song. The song peaked at No.6 on the Billboard Hot 100. And it has sold over 10 million copies worldwide.

The song mainly talks about a faithful love story which is basically based on Shakira and her husband. Tough the lyrics is generally bland, I like the Latin pop tune. It just gets stuck in my head.

3. Shakira – Beautiful Liar

“Let’s not kill the karma
(Ay) Let’s not start a fight
(Ay) It’s not worth the drama
For a beautiful liar”

The song featuring Beyoncé is a mix of Latin and R&B style. It hit Billboard Hot 100 at No.3 and was nominated for Grammy Awards for Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals. Besides, it has a Spanish version that got nomination for Latin Grammy Awards.

I like the way in which the song performed as a duet. Two different styles mixed to produce a subtle chemical reaction that just grabs my ears. I’ll give this song four out of five stars.

4. Shakira – Waka Waka

“Tsamina mina, eh eh
Waka waka, eh eh
Tsamina mina zangalewa
This time for Africa”

Waka Waka was the official song of the 2010 FIFA World Cup and certified platinum by the RIAA. Though it just placed at No.38 on the Billboard Hot 100, it topped several charts in many other countries.

This fast-tempo song carries a positive message which does show the spirit of the sport. It says never give up and to be a hero for yourselves at any time. Really a good stuff, isn’t it?

5. Shakira – She Wolf

“S-O-S she is in disguise
S-O-S she is in disguise
There’s a she-wolf in disguise,
Coming out, coming out, coming out”

She Wolf was released as the lead single from Shakira’s eighth studio album, She Wolf (2009). This pop peaked at No.11 on the US Billboard Hot 100, and its Spanish version topped the Hot Latin Songs.

The song is simply about a neglected lover. Actually, I got goose bumps when I heard the cries of wolves in the middle of this disco. I think is the creative part. Then, what do you guys think of it?

7. Shakira – Try Everything

“I won’t give up, no I won’t give in
Till I reach the end
And then I’ll start again
Though I’m on the lead”

Try Everything is the soundtrack of the Disney film Zootopia. And it was played at the end of the film. The song received nomination of Grammy Awards for Best Song Written for Visual Media.

If you have ever seen the film Zootopia, this inspiring song would sound familiar to you. The film really make sense. And this ending song defiantly sum up the main idea of the cartoon.

Siempre es a tu manera
Yo te quiero aunque no quieras”

Chantajeis from Shakira’s eleventh studio album, El Dorado (2017). It topped the Billboard Latin Songs and many other charts worldwide. The song got a series of nomination of the Latin Grammy Awards.

The Spanish pop song featuring Colombian singer Maluma, this song gets a feel-good melody. It seems that it talks about the trouble between protagonists in the song. Anyway, I’m going to play it in rotation.

9. Shakira – Underneath Your Clothes

There’s the man I chose
There’s my territory”

Underneath Your Clothes is the second single from Shakira’s third studio album, Laundry Service (2001). The song peaked at No.9 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and topped the charts in seven countries. Besides, the song has sold over 5 million copies.

The tune of this song is comfortable, and with Shakira’s distinctive vocal it sounds just like an endless story. The sweet and moving lyrics makes me couldn’t help but put it in repeat.

10. Shakira – La Bicicleta

Que te sueño y que te quiero tanto
Que hace rato esta mi corazón latiendo por ti, latiendo por ti
La que yo guardo donde te escribí”
