Let the beat carry away your tears as they fall baby
Ain’t no crying in the club (Hey, hey)
With a little faith, your tears turn to ecstasy”
“Crying in the Night Club” is her first song as a solo artist since her departure from the Fifth Harmony. It was originally released on May 19, 2017 as the lead single of the album The Hurting, The Healing, The Loving (2018).
The song samples Christina Aguilera’s “Genie in a Bottle”. Lyrically, the song contains the theme of the healing powers of music and a failure relationship which is not a big deal. Just walk out from sadness, and let it go.
2. I Know What You Did Last Summer
“I know what you did last Summer Ah-ah
Look me in the eyes my lover He-ey
I know what you did last Summer
Tell me where you’ve been”
“I Know What You Did Last Summer” is a 1997 American slasher film. Cabello and Shawn Mendes collaborated on a song backstage spontaneously on one of Taylor Swift’s World Tour stops and name it “I know What You Did Last Summer”.
Cabello described “I know What You Did Last Summer” as a conversation between two people in a relationship which it’s dying but none of them want to admit it. Try it, and you’ll feel the torture between these two people.
The song reached the Top 20 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and on the Canadian Hot 100.
“Pull up, pull up, pull up straight from Tokyo

I only wanna do bad things to you
So good, that you can’t explain it
What can I say, it’s complicated”

“I have questions, I got questions haunting me

I have questions for you. Number one, number two… While many have regarded the song as a scorned ballad to miss Camren (Cabello’s ex-boyfriend), Cabello explained that the song is only about a friendship that went away.
As the song title implies, the singer has many questions to ask. It sounds like someone cried in pouring rain or stays alone in a room. What kind of questions, or are there problems that make the song so sad?
The song debuted at No.29 in US Bubbling Under Hot Singles (Billboard) and No.9 in Spanish (PROMUSICAL).
“Havana ooh na na ayy

Havana became the album’s proper lead single. Why? The song reached No.1 in Australia, Canada, Ireland, while peaking at No.2 on the US Billboard Hot 100, where it became Cabello’s highest ranking.
Personally, I think the song is at her best. Cabello was born in Havana. She regards her love one as important as her hometown Havana. This Cuban-flavored song brings her vocals to comfort zone. She created her own style in this song.
